MADISON- Several members of the local high school lacrosse teams have made a big splash across the state by being a part of the recent Alabama Lacrosse Showcase held at Buccaneer Stadium in Hoover.

Both boys and girls teams were comprised by lacrosse players from across Alabama and were divided into the White Team and the Red Team. In the girls, the match was suspended part way through the action due to severe weather. After a long break and the weather clearing, the boys took to the field where the Red Team defeated the White Team 11-8.

The team rosters included seven athletes and one coach from either Bob Jones or James Clemens High Schools. The following players were chosen to partake in the special All-Star Showcase:

Boys- Seth Kerr, James Clemens (Att-Mid, Jr.), Michael Duffy, Bob Jones (Att-Mid, Jr.) and Charlie Wheat, Bob Jones (MD-FOGO, So.). Bob Jones coach Paul Burke was also selected to add to the coaching roster on the White Team. Kerr was the lone selection to participate on the Read Team.

Girls- Lila Gilmartin, James Clemens (Atk, Goal, So.), Paige Gilmartin, James Clemens (Def, Sr.), Victoria Hirst, James Clemens (MD, Jr.) and Jessica Reese, James Clemens (Mid-Def, Sr.).

In addition, Hirst was selected as a member of the All-State Second Team for her outstanding play for the Jets during the recent season.
