Redstone makes awards to local students

Redstone Federal Credit Union recently awarded its annual $2,000 scholarships to 12 student members.
The 2010 recipients are: Jessica Aguirre, Athens State University; Riley Flack, Auburn University; Taylor Fowler, Calhoun Community College; Jordan Harvell, Birmingham Southern College; Alexander Isper, Yale University; Jessica Johnson, Oakwood University; Sophia Lacy, Alabama A&M University; Rebecca Little, University of Alabama in Huntsville; Christen McAllister, J.F. Drake State Technical College; and Aaron Roe, Enterprise Ozark Community College.
The Redstone Federal Credit Union Family Scholarship was awarded to Kayla Donham, who will be attending Auburn University. The Gerald E. Toland Legacy Scholarship was awarded to Emily Kirby, who will be attending Samford University.
The students were recognized at a dinner held at the Wynn Drive Headquarters Building of Redstone Federal Credit Union
“We award scholarships once a year and applications for 2010 were accepted December 1 through March 3,” said Mary Grace Evans, Assistant Vice President of Membership and Community Relations at Redstone. “Each applicant must be a member of Redstone Federal Credit Union. They submit their application, transcript, letters of reference, listing of extracurricular and community activities, along with an essay.”
A dinner was held in their honor and each essay was published in the program describing…Your past and present financial institution experiences. How has RFCU played a role and how do you envision RFCU playing a role in the future?
