James Clemens Remains Unbeaten in Region 4

GADSDEN – James Clemens scored on the opening drive Friday night and never looked back in a solid 50-28 win at Gadsden City.

The Jets’ record remains perfect in Class 7A Region 4 play at 4-0; they are 4-2 overall. The Titans fall to 0-6, 0-4.

Quarterback Jamil Muhammad engineered the first scoring drive and connected with Austin McGhee on a 26-yard pass for a 7-0 lead just two minutes into the game. The score was the first of four touchdowns in the game for McGhee.

The Jets offense, which finished with 442 total yards, continued to roll as McGhee rushed for two TDs and Dylan Blackburn added a touchdown run in the second quarter to give James Clemens a 28-7 lead at the half.

The Jets picked up where they left off after halftime with a little razzle-dazzle when Blackburn scored on a pass from tight end Trevor Hunziker.

The defense got into the scoring column with a safety and Muhammad and McGhee combined again, this time on a 22-yarder, to build a 44-14 lead after three quarters. Dante Snodgrass wrapped up the Jets’ scoring with a 17-yard run late in the fourth quarter.

Muhammad finished the night with 166 yards on 19-for-25 passing and he rushed for 62 yards.

The Jets host Grissom (3-3, 1-3) in a key Region 4 matchup on Friday.
