MADISON- Adult sports are alive and well in Madison this fall.

The City of Madison Recreation Dept. will host its fourth season of Co-Ed Softball and add both men’s and women’s leagues on the softball diamond and will host a new men’s flag football league with action for all adult fall leagues held at Palmer Park.

Registration for each of the leagues is now open and will close Aug. 27.

SOFTBALL

The Co-Ed League will see first-pitch number four this season as the league celebrates its fourth anniversary. Registration is $45 per player and up to eight teams will take to the playing field for an eight-game regular season schedule and a single elimination post-season tournament. Games will be played Aug. 31-Oct. 15. Games will be played on Monday and Thursday nights.

A new men’s league will hit the confines of the dirt and grass playing field at Palmer Park field No. 5 for an eight regular season schedule Sept. 1 and running through Nov.10. A single elimination tournament at the end of the regular season will also be part of the $45 player registration fee.

The same can be said for a new woman’s league kicking off its inaugural season Sept. 1 at field No. 5 at Palmer Park. Much like the men’s league, registration fee is $45 and games to be played on Tuesday nights.

Each league will be comprised of a maximum of eight teams with team rosters of 10-20 plyers each.

FLAG FOOTBALL

The newly formed Flag Football League is for men ages 18 and older and will feature a 5-on-5 format. Each team will play an eight-game regular season schedule and an end of season single elimination tournament. Games will be played at Palmer Park during the season running from Aug. 31-Nov. 9. Games will be played on Monday nights.

“These leagues are for any adult looking to have fun and to stay or get into shape,” said Dylan Reutter, Madison Recreation Dept. “You can sign up as a free agent or as a team with friends, co-workers or a church group. The co-ed leagues include having two females on the field at all times. All of these are great chances to relive your baseball, softball or football days.”
