UAH remains in second in latest NCAA South Region rankings release

HUNTSVILLE – The NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee announced its updated South Region rankings, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville men’s basketball team remained in second amongst the 10 teams ranked in the region.

Nova Southeastern stayed atop the South Region with a 25-0 overall record and a 22-0 record within the region, followed by UAH with a 25-6 overall record and 23-6 record regionally.

West Alabama, Lee, Saint Leo, Florida Southern, Tuskegee and West Georgia rounded out the top eight of the South Region.

The Chargers look ahead to the 2023 Gulf South Conference Men’s Basketball Championship Semifinals as the first seed against fourth-seeded West Georgia on Saturday at 5 p.m. The winner of that contest moves on to the GSC tournament title game on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The 2023 NCAA Division II South Region Championships is set for March 10-14 on the campus of the No. 1 seed in the region, and the selection show precedes the NCAA tournament at 10 p.m. CT this Sunday.
