Madison man enrolls in Angus program
Bill Bailey of Madison has recently enrolled in the Angus Herd Improvement Records program of the American Angus Association.
AHIR is a comprehensive evaluation program used by registered Angus breeders to help them keep records of reproduction and growth rate on individual animals.
Siegelman awards child abuse grant
Gov. Don Siegelman has awarded a $97,188 grant to continue early intervention services for abused children and their families in Madison County.
The funds will be used for forensic interviews and evaluations to obtain evidence and information that can be used to investigate and prosecute child abusers and protect children. Local matching funds of $24,297 will come from the National Children's Advocacy Center – based in Huntsville.
Madison resident elected Angus delegate
Gregg Blythe of Madison has been elected as a delegate to the 119th annual meeting of the American Angus Association to be held on Nov. 18 in Louisville, Ky.
Blythe, a member of the association, is one of 350 Angus breeders who have been elected by fellow members in their state to serve as a representative at the annual meeting. The association has more than 36,000 active members and is the largest beef breed organization in the world.
